As of year-end 2018, companies of Smart-Holding Group (not including Metinvest and HarvEast) paid UAH 1.721 billion in taxes and fees to budgets of all levels.

Ukraiinski Novyny talked to Vasiliy Fedin, Director General of the largest domestic shipbuilding company, Smart Maritime Group, about the current state of the industry, the search for foreign customers in spite of the wartime, the problem of human resource outflow and difficult relations with law enforcement agencies.

Alexey Revin has been appointed as the head of Smart-Holding’s real estate business to replace Boris Tur who left the Company.

British company Regal Petroleum (a part of Smart Energy Group) started drilling a new extension well No. 119 at Mekhedivsko-Golotovschynske field in Poltava region.Target depth of the well is 4,850 m. The drilling is planned to be completed in the third quarter of this year, whereas production start, providing next successful well testing, - in the fourth quarter.

This year, the International Charitable Foundation in Honour of Intercession of the Most Holy Mother of God (ICF) will provide almost UAH 15 million to create and equip a unique operating room at the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

For 12 months of 2018 Smart Energy Group paid 1.5 bln UAH in taxes, which is twice as much as that of the previous year (850 mln UAH). Herewith, most of the charges are royalty exceeding 700 mln UAH. Out of a total of taxes more than 60 mln UAH were paid to local budgets.

Smart Maritime Group (SMG, Kherson), incorporating Kherson and Nikolaev shipyards, almost doubled its production output in 2018 – to UAH 610 million compared to the previous year (UAH 317 million).

Successful work-over completion contributed to producing additional hydrocarbon production, increasing total gas production upon Smart Energy Group and achieving a historical daily maximum flowrate of 960 K m3/day.
