For 12 months of 2021 the companies of Smart Energy Group paid in total UAH 2.2 bln in taxes. That is nearly twice and a half times more than for the same period last year (UAH 948.0 mln). These payments include UAH 983.2 mln fee for subsoil use to the budgets of all levels. Thus, UAH 49.2 mln of subsoil tax were paid to the local budgets.
Significant increase of tax payments against 2020 is evident by income tax and VAT. They have grown nearly three times. Despite the insignificant decrease of production volumes, the payments of subsoil tax have grown as well (2.3 times more). Their growth is a result of significant increase of gas price in 2021.
“Because of the price factor 2021 was a favourible year for gas production companies. The price enabled significant growth of tax payments by our companies to the state and local budgets. Meanwhile, price growth caused the government initiatives, able to slow down the industry development and, consequently, growth of Ukrainian gas production,” Oleksiy Zayets, FCO of Smart Energy Group, commented.
For the reported period the companies of Smart Energy Group allocated complementarily UAH 6.7 mln for socially important projects of the communities on the territories of which they operate. In particular, Arkona Gas-Energy paid UAH 776 thousand to Poltava oblast budget within the bilateral agreement. It also presented gifts to school pupils of Zavodske territorial community by significant holidays.
The Representative Office of Regal Petroleum Corporation Limited allocated UAH 1.3 mln for the needs of Lokhvytsia community. This fund is used for turning some inpatient care facilities of Lokhvytsia district hospital into inpatient rehabilitation facilities, for financing football team of Yakhnyky village and replacement of local sport tracks cover, for purchase of the monument of Hryhoriy Skovoroda by Chornukhy community and useful and sweet gifts for school kids.
Ukrgazvydobutok allocated UAH 4 million for the social needs in 2021. The biggest social project of the reported period is an aid of UAH 3 mln for the capital repair of heating system of Merefa medical lyceum. The company also allocated UAH 800 thousand Novovodolaha territorial community for it to purchase a school bus and for the support of the unique project for kids by the Interregional Centre or Humanitarian Demining and Rapid Response of SECU as well as participated in establishing a new park in Rokytne village.
Prom-Energo Produkt allocated over UAH 0.5 mln for Novopokrovka territorial community for implementing several projects, including repair of an administrative building in Ternova village, purchase of materials for repair of Ternova lyceum facilities, repair of the school bus, purchase of medical stuff for the fight against COVID-19 etc.
The main criteria of selection of projects for the participation of Smart Energy Group are their current importance and the benefit for as many people as possible.
